Join the Close Brothers Motor Finance Team where you will follow appropriate underwriting strategies, acceptance criteria and terms for Motor Assets to censure maximum efficiency in providing decisions to Motor Dealers. Working as part of the Motor Finance team our ideal team member will have previous experience in gathering all the required information on applications for underwriting with excellent listening and negotiation skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the lending growth objectives of the business within the parameters of acceptable credit risk
  • Liaise with Customers/Dealers when more information is required and follow up
  • Assess motor finance HP applications as assigned to acceptable standard
  • Carry a personal lending discretion and operate within that discretion
  • Review and make recommendations on applications above personal discretion
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with all channels including management, team leader, underwriters, sales and support teams and Dealer Network
  • Ensure efficient throughput of applications and documentation accordance with Close Brothers Motor Finance policy
  • Act in compliance with regulatory and business codes in addition to achieving satisfactory audit ratings
  • Identify improvements in the work process to improve departmental efficiency & customer service

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • Underwriting experience
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Strong commercial judgment
  • A broad knowledge of credit policy, credit risk parameters and procedures with an ability to interpret financial statement
  • Strong numerical ability
  • A commitment to customer care and satisfaction
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines in a pressurised environment

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Completed APA or APP
  • Knowledge of Data Protection, Anti Money Laundering, Consumer Credit Act and related legislation
