In this role, you will be responsible for leading the groupwide second line of defence team regarding third party risk and resilience. The role will also provide risk oversight and advisory to the group’s Central Functions. Your background will either be a proven third party practitioner with a strong understanding of the regulatory environment or a seasoned risk practitioner with a third-party management and resilience specialism.

The team supports framework embedding, policy and risk appetite setting, delivers reporting, and works closely across all lines of defence to provide advice, challenge and assurance activities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide independent oversight and challenge relating to the Group’s identification, assessment, control, review and reporting of third-party risks and resilience capabilities including but not limited to vendors and intermediaries
  • Provide direction, advice and independent challenge on all bau risk activities and project investment
  • Identify key risk issues and deliver high quality recommendations to enhance the control environment to the appropriate standard
  • Support the development and maintenance of risk policy in relation to third parties, with appropriate levels of risk management
  • Provide direction, advice and independent challenge to third party management and central function teams and senior management to support the management of risks and controls
  • Deliver high quality risk reports, with guidance and recommendations, to enable senior business owners to make the most appropriate risk decisions
  • Work closely with the relevant business owners, legal and third-party management to ensure third party risks are considered and managed at appropriate points of the end to end lifecycle
  • Partnering colleagues in compliance to support compliance alignment and governance
  • Understand the applicability of appropriate legislation and regulations

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU ARE/HAVE:

  • Professional Risk management qualification or equivalent demonstrated through experience
  • Good understanding of Third-Party Risk Management practices and strategies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory framework, ideally in relation to Financial Services
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and being flexible with priorities changing
  • Interested in identifying relevant data, performing analysis and understanding the impact on our bank
  • Extensive experience of operational or non-financial risk management, a professional who has worked within 1st or 2nd line of defence on the topic of third party risk and resilience management
  • Experience gained from a supplier/vendor management, category management or professional services advisory specialism in this area
  • Experience in developing reporting and supporting KRI’s, KPI’s and KPC’s to manage the risk of outsourced services

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE/ARE:

  • Degree level or equivalent experience
  • Professional certification in a relevant discipline or professional risk accreditation
